New IC instructor Celina Nevarez also teaches at the University of Texas in the Spanish and Portuguese Language Department. We were so happy to partner with her to offer another series of Spanish classes, with Martha Randall's classes being immensely popular and always having a large waiting list. Celina offered her first course three times per week, although the course coming up in the fall will be twice per week for nine sessions. In her evaluations from her June classes, her students wrote:
Enjoyed la professora y la clase. [How’s that for stellar Spanglish!]
Excellent! I really enjoyed it. She was a great teacher; very patient. She made me want to take her class again.
I don’t think you can really ask for better than that!
Student Paula Tuttle wrote,
Celina is an enthusiastic teacher. She is cheerful and expressive. She keeps us working so the two hours go by very quickly. It was a difficult class to teach with varying degrees of Spanish attainment.
Other students wrote,
She is a fabulous instructor and very patient. LOVED HER!!!
Celina was a wonderful teacher. She engaged everyone and made us all feel comfortable about speaking. She helped us learn from our mistakes without embarrassment and made the class fun for everyone.
Unfortunately, Celina’s next class is already sold out! But please email us to get on the waiting list and be among the first to be alerted when we have another section of her class posted for the spring. We’ll also be offering Spanish: Intensive Beginner II this fall!
